On October 30, 2024, we held the kick-off meeting for the EIC Pathfinder funded project – FlexiForm. The gathering was highly productive, bringing together all team members from Tailored Materiality Research at TU Delft | Civil Engineering and Geosciences, Professorship of Structural Design at Technical University of Munich and CONSTRUCTIM S.A. Timisoara for a comprehensive overview of our ambitious goals. During the morning session, we outlined our project objectives, focusing on our commitment to contribute to the decarbonisation of the construction sector through the development of knitted flexible formworks.
Following this, the team visited our facilities at TU Delft, specifically the Tailored Materiality Research facilities in Stevin Hall and the Digital Construction Lab at the Department of Materials, Mechanics, Management and Design (3MD).
We concluded the day with a productive project workshop in the afternoon, where we engaged in detailed discussions about the project work with our PhD candidates Valentin Lorenzen da Silva, Anass Kariouh and Nikoletta Christidi.
This kick-off meeting marks an exciting beginning for the FlexiForm project, setting the stage for innovative research and development in sustainable construction techniques.
